Have you thought about starting collecting but not yet started because you are scared of the high cost?

Or have you maybe thought about it and don't really know what collection field to chose.

First, don't wait starting collecting till next year when your house is finished or to after you have left school, start now. Because everybody that talk about what they will do next year is often only talkers and not more will happend.

If you not are a wealthy millionaire but an ordinary worker you can probably not afford the most expensive pieces and most likely are you scared of collecting as some of the items that interest you have been sold for 1500 pounds at Sotheby's and that feels far to much for your wallet.

The answer about how to do is very easy, start on a low level and trade yourself up to the serious exhibition pieces, those can often never be bought for money anyway but have to be found some other way.

We are just ordinary workers and have always to many days left of the month when the monhtly salary is since long gone.

We buy things at auctions for low money because we sometimes are lucky and nobody else know what it worth, and in many cases we collect items with a low economical value on purpose to be able to get a serious collection.

Many times when collecting odd items like we do friends asks us if we would like this or that for free, so suddenly you have a nice collection without having spent more money than you paid for you house.

Honestly I wouldn't mind to have a perfect Leica M collection or a nice 100% Navy luger collection, so I have decided to wait with those until they turn up at the right price.

It's surely also possible to collect Leica M at a low level but it's far more difficult because so much more people know what it is and that it's worth money.

THe collections you find here is a mix of low and high level of collection. The binoculars like Marine Busch 09 är good examples of a fairly high level while the Colt 1900 pistols here is low level.

But as we never would have been able to buy a nice Colt 1900 we start with lower level to later when the possiblity arrives trade it for a better piece.
